Time for Quick Bites!
I (#MacroTraveller) started with the live chaat, and although all the dishes were delicious, my favorites were the chaats. The Aloo Chaat and the Dahi Papdi made with fresh and crispy ingredients, had me going in for seconds, and even thirds. The appetizers served on the table included a vegetarian and non-vegetarian pizza and steamed dumpling (momos). While the momos were soft and delicious, the thin crust pizzas were excellent.
Next, I went on to the live grills, the real highlight of the menu. Served on a grill at the table, the options included veg and non-veg. The veg delights were Grilled Cottage Cheese Satay, Mushroom and Bell Pepper Teriyaki, and I enjoyed both. There was Harissa Chicken, Chipotle Prawns, was non-veg specialties. Potato Grill, Fish Grill. The unique sauces made the grills a favorite. The Corn Chowder gets a special notice because of the topping of cheese popcorn, rather of the usual croutons.
The buffet style main course had Chinese, Thai, Italian, as well as Indian options. Although previously quite full, I started with the BBQ’D In House Special Dal Makhani, rich and creamy, and it is as authentic as it gets. The Dakhni Saag, a spinach preparation was spicy and went well with the Dal Makhani. Malabar Prawn Biryani stole the show for non-vegetarians. Other choices include Pasta, Andhra Chicken Curry, Thai Green Curry and a Black Bean Sauce Gravy.
If you like MacroTraveller, specialist buffets on the variety of desserts on offer, and then BBQ’d checks all the boxes. Fancy from Green Apple Jalebi, Pumpkin Halwa, Saffron Rabdi, Rosemary and Pineapple Crumble and more. If you’re feeling a little superficial, go to the live Candy Floss (Cotton Candy) counter and try the flavor of the day, served atop an ice cream cone.
BBQ’D won over with its fresh and elegant buffet spread at reasonable prices, in the heart of the city.
