Chin Chin, the new Pan Asian restaurant by The Biere Club

By MACRO TRAVELLER

MacroTraveller was invited to a bloggers’ tasting at Chin Chin hosted by celebrity chef, Chef Shawn Kenworthy. Chin Chin, a Pan Asian restaurant which serves simple, fresh, wholesome food from different parts of the globe. 153 Biere Street has always been my favorite place to relax and enjoy the beer. The open-air restaurant, at Whitefield, is located in a beautiful picturesque neighborhood and makes for a very relaxing dining experience. Coming to the food, their menu was loaded with different drinks, appetizers, main course, and desserts. I began with cocktails which had the South-East Asian connections. Few of them Indian Sensation (Mango Pepper Vodka, Mango Pulp, Thai red curry paste), Chin Chin Thai (White Rum, Galangal, Kaffir lime leaves), Tom yum my (Pineapple, White rum, Galangal, and Lime). There were various mocktails in the menu as well, and I tried Rosemary in Rangoon, Virgin Sangria, Virgini Turquoise, Mock Biere and Lichi Lemonade. All the drinks were super appetizing and refreshing. Starters and Mains!I was thrilled to taste the new offering. The starters were Green peas dumplings, and Har gaw shrimp, Broccoli and cheese buns, Char Sui Pork buns, Chicken and spring onion gyoza, Thai grilled mushrooms and Grilled Chicken Satay, Roasted Pork ribs. I liked Glass noodle and vegetable spring rolls. I loved Spicy wood ear mushroom with tofu salad, Green papaya salad with green beans, Thai green vegetable curry with Fried rice and Jasmine rice. These were too good, and I enjoyed very much. From the mains at Chin Chin, the Thai red curry deserves a special mention. It was delicious and most appreciated. Lip-Smacking Desserts!I tasted water chestnut rubies in coconut milk, Lemongrass Panna Cotta with litchis and Chinese Mango Pudding. Yup! Mango pudding was fantastic it was a huge burst of mango in every bite. The pannacotta held just the right amount of lemongrass and is a must try when you plan on visiting Chin Chin. The coconut milk was also equally good.Great ambiance, great food, excellent service and very courteous staff. I was greeted warmly, its styled well and great spread. MacroTraveller highly recommends this restaurant and will be back.
