Coolpad Cool 5 Review

Coolpad Group Limited which was previously named China Wireless Technologies Limited has launched a new entry-level smartphone named Cool 5. The phone comes with various features that are suitable for entry-level devices.

The phone was announced in the month of October 2019 and is available to consumers the same month. Coolpad Cool 5 comes with Gradient Blue, Midnight Blue colours and is priced around 8000INR. The phones come with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The external storage is expandable up to 128GB.

Coolpad Cool 5 is powered by Octa-core 2.0GHz Cortex-A53 with MediaTek MT6762 Helio P22 (12nm) chipset. The OS that powers Coolpad Cool 5 is Android 9.0 Pie. The dimensions of the phone are 76x157x8 mm in width, height and thickness respectively and the weigh of the phone is 145gm.  The display type is IPS LCD comes with 6.22 inches of screen and around 80.9% screen-to-body ratio, the pixel density of 270PPI and the resolution of 1520×720.

The hardware of Coolpad Cool 5 comes with Octacore 2.0GHz Cortex-A53 with PowerVR GE8320 and has sensors of Accelerometer, Proximity, Compass, Hall, Light.  Camera features include Dual Rear camera with  13MP + 2MP and has features such as Autofocus Continuous shooting Digital zoom, Optical zoom, Geotagging, Panorama, HDR Touch focus, Face detection, White balance settings, ISO settings, Exposure compensation, Self-timer, Scene mode, 2x optical zoom, Secondary rear camera – 2 MP (depth-sensing) and front camera of 16MP. It also features face-unlock and flash. The Coolpad Cool 5 holds 4000mAh non-removable Li-ion battery equipped with fast charging. There are loudspeaker and 3.5mm headphone jack present at the bottom.

The network & Connectivity of Coolpad Cool 5 comes with Dual Sim slots which support 2G, 3G and 4G based on Indian Network connectivity. It uses Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot WLAN Access, Type C 2.0 USB and Bluetooth version 4.2 A2DP, LE. It comes with GPS access and there is no connectivity of NFC.

Overall, CoolPad Cool 5 is a good phone for mid-range smartphone users and the current is available on major online retailers.
