Corning Museum of Glass experience

Corning Museum of Glass conducts various workshops and events all year round.  The programmes are suitable for all ages and interests where families can enjoy their day here. There are family nights conducted here which will introduce children to the art of glassmaking and its properties. Also, Adults, if they are interested, can learn more about the art of glassmaking, live or via live stream.  You can also take classes or check their live workshop conducted in mobile vans.

Lectures and Seminars are conducted here on regular intervals, here you can get to know more about glass from renowned artists, historians and experts in the glass. Since 1961, Corning has provided Annual Seminar of Glass which is a multi-day event and here they invite the experts and historians from around the world to speak in their seminars, also people can meet these artists in Museum Auditorium where you can have informal conversation with the artists and also get to know artists from The Studio.

Gallery Tours To explore the museum with maps you might skip some places which might be interesting and quite unknown, in that case, you can prefer guided tours. These guided tours are limited and you need to enquire at the desk for this option, here you will get a chance to explore GLASS, HONEY! THE CORNING MUSEUM OF GLASS PRIDE TOUR and GLASS THROUGH THE AGES by respective guides. Or you can explore Themed Tours of the Museum where you can check Contemporary Glass, Mosaics, Flowers, Science Theme, Mythological, perfumes, culture etc which are made via glass.  You can also have a little fun activity via Gallery Activity where you go on Garden, Animal, Harvest, Winter Wonder and Scavenger Hunts conducted here at the museum. You can also choose Mobile Tours via GlassApp which was started back in 2015. You can download the app on both iOS and Android devices.

2300Degree This section is a series of free, themed events where you can notice live glassmaking by guest artists; also you can notice live music with food and beverage access. It is held every Third Thursday of each month from November – March with the special date fixed for May. The event is held from 18:00-20:00hrs and it is must-to-do once you here at the museum on these days.

Guest Artist Series What happens when a glass is carved or glass objects are prepared by an expert hand, you will be mesmerized of how can a glass function when it is melted. Here at Corning Museum of Glass, you will be provided with this access which has admission fee where you get to notice world-class artists working at Amphitheatre Hot Shop. There will be a special extended demonstration which provides interesting techniques of contemporary glassmaking. The Hot Glass Demo Team assists you by providing answers to any question from the audience.

Kids and Family Programme If you think your kid cannot enjoy some of the works fret not as the Corning Museum of Glass offers special Kids and Family Programmes. Kids get an opportunity to experience glass through storytelling, music, crafts, and much more. From experiencing whimsical glass pumpkins to having a blast at our free Family Night, you’ll find plenty of kid-approved Museum favourites here. The interesting thing is kids here get free entry so that they can skip admission ticket and a hole in your pocket.

Classes  Are you mesmerized on glass and glassmaking while on your visit to Corning Museum of Glass and keep thinking what if I get a chance to prepare on my own? Then worry not as Corning offers 40 minute Make your own Glass every day and is suitable for all ages. Be it an amateur or an advanced level you get a chance to prepare glass where you can try One day, weekend or 2 weeks intensive glass-making workshop at The Studio. Here you will be taught from glass experts who fine-tune you and let you know about your mistakes. If you need to learn in-depth you can consider taking 2 weeks classes where you will be taught A-Z of Glassmaking.
