Day 3 & 4 of The Ayurvedic Healing Village in Palakkad, Kerala #MacroTraveller

Similar to Day 2, we began our day as early as 06:30hrs on Day 3 freshened up and we did Yoga for an hour. Starting our day early with exercise makes our body feel lightened up and we feel energetic the entire day. Getting up early reminded me of the quote by the famous scientist Benjamin Franklin: “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise”. We were feeling refreshed after the Yoga session.

After the Yoga session, for people who had a therapeutic massage session who did not get to get the treatment on Day 2 were allowed to take the massage session. However, for people who had already completed the therapeutic massage session on Day were allowed to have breakfast and for the rest after the session. As mentioned in Day 2 of the FAM trip to The Healing Village we were impressed by the breakfast option provided to us. We had a healthy and sattvik breakfast to begin our day with full fun and therapeutic.

We waited for people who had Ayurvedic Therapeutic Massage session, once they came back refreshed and had breakfast we left out to visit the Factory of Kairali Ayurvedic Center.  The factory was huge and spacious with many types of machinery which helps in the packaging of many products of Kairali Ayurvedic Group where the products are packed and dispatched for the consumer. One of the staff members explained to us what all products are manufactured and packed in the plant and explained why you should trust Kairali Products due to their products are non-adulterated. I noticed that there were products manufactured and stored in huge containers ready for packing.

The staff also explained to us which types of products such as powder, oil are used to treat different ailments. We could notice how busy the factory was during our visit as many machine, staff and workers who were working here to package the products so that they can reach consumers. We also tried our hand in packaging and we could not meet the speed of the workers who were working, we were given some samples of products, which I am eager to try out. Noticing how clean, hands-free technology used I was convinced that the products here are non- adulterated and safe.

After an informative tour of the factory, we were taken on a visit to Palakkad Town and Mallampuzha Dam. Mallampuzha Dam is the largest reservoir in Kerala, located near Palakkad, Situated in the scenic hills of the Western Ghats in the background it is at a length of 1,849 metres and an earthen dam with a length of 220 metres. The dam is 355 feet high and crosses the Mallampuzha River, which is a tributary of Bharathappuzha, Kerala’s second-longest river. The project to construct the dam began in the year 1949 and was completed in 1955. The dam has a catchment area of around 145sqkm with a capacity to hold around 8000cubic meters of water. The dam is located 10 km from Palakkad town and has attractions such as an amusement park, boating facilities, rock garden and ropeway.

After a quick tour of the Dam and the town of Palakkad we returned to the resort and had a quick dinner. Feeling bad that day 4 would be the last day for our visit, we had a good night rest. Day 4 also same as the last 2 days began with Yoga and breakfast. One last treatment was provided to us before we bid adieu to the Healing Village. We felt rejuvenated and got to learn more about Ayurveda in the last 3 days which we were here. And off we departed to the airport to leave for our respective destinations.
