How to plan your visit to Thailand

Thailand, the South East Asian country that is most visited by tourist every year no matter what season it is. Having some of best beaches for water based activities and some of the picturesque landscape people from all over the world visit this place either for enjoying the beach and resorts or to click a picture or 2 from their newly bought camera. Add to the fact that this country gives Visa on Arrival (VoA) option for many other nations people make their pit stop to visit Thailand when they want to explore countries situated in South East Asia.

With its cheap hotel prices, tasty street food, cheap electronics, clothes and many places of worship to know Buddhist culture, people throng to this nation to enjoy, party or leisure. As I was writing this, I came across the latest news that Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand topped as The World’s Most Visited City in the year 2019 according to MasterCard’s 2019 Global Destination Cities Index with tourist footfalls counting more than 22.7 million visitors in a year, hence you can notice how the country has developed from various centuries. 

As mentioned earlier that Thailand offers Visa on Arrival (VoA) facility for various nations, India too comes under this facility where Indians can enter Thailand and apply for Visa for them to stay and explore the nation. A boon for Indian tourists is that Thailand is easily connected via various direct flights flying to and fro from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) to various cities like Chennai (MAA), Bangalore (BLR), New Delhi (DEL), Mumbai (BOM) etc which makes visitors right opportunity to explore the nation without worrying about their transit or layover schedule.

Indians visiting Thailand has an option for applying Visa for Thailand beforehand or collect Visa on Arrival (VoA) if their period of stay is not more than 15 days, VoA services can be availed in International Airports of Thailand such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Samuai, Hatyai etc all you need is Booked airline tickets, passport with at least 6 months prior expiry, Visa application filled, recent photographs, minimum balance of around 20000 Thai Baht as proof of leaving in Thailand and Visa Fee.

If you want to explore Thailand for more than 15 days you can apply for visa beforehand and all you need is to submit passport with validity of 6 months from date of entry and the passport should have 2 blank pages, 3 passport size photographs, visa application duly filled, cover letter from your employer, 3 months bank statements, air tickets and hotel bookings are required. Thailand visa costs 2000 INR and if you apply beforehand will cost around 2500 INR.

Update:  It is to be noted that to promote tourism, Thailand has provided free visa services for Indians until April 2020 which was originally intended to be till November 2019. You can visit this amazing nation without worrying about the Visa Fee that needs to be paid at immigration.
