Places to visit in Malaysia

Malaysia is one of the top destinations to travel if you are visiting South East Asia. Sharing its border with Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei this country is on the list to cover when you visit. Malaysia offers many tourist attraction to its visitors which offers you a variety of genre like adventure, leisure or to explore historical places.

  • Petronas Twin Towers.

Petronas Twin Towers is one of the top places to visit in Malaysia. Before Burj Khalifa was opened to the public, these towers occupied the position of being the world’s tallest building. Standing 452m tall, this 88-storey building has a skywalk connection between the two towers at 41st and 42nd floor. At the 86th floor, the view would be panoramic. Located near Concorde Hotel Monorail stop, the towers are open Tuesday’s to Sundays’s from 09:00-21:00 and during prayers on Friday it is closed between 13:00-14:30hrs. Entry fee costs 1335INR for Adults, 550INR for children and 700INR for Senior Citizens.

  • Langkawi Cable Car.

Langkawi Cable Car also known as Sky Cab is one of the steepest cable car rides in the world. Riding up the Langkawi to Mount Mat Cincang one of Langkawi’s second highest peak this cable car takes visitors to a height of 708m above sea level. Tourists are advised to wear comfortable warm clothing as the wind chills occur while traversing above, it is one of the must-visit places in Malaysia as it offers a beautiful view from above and is worth climbing. Open on all days from 09:30-19:00hrs this cable car ride costs tourists anywhere between 500-1000INR depending on tourist package.

  • Langkawi Sky Bridge.

Langkawi Sky Bridge is visited after you take a ride from Langkawi Cable Car, this place is mesmerizing when visited as it gives a view of the rainforest and there is Telaga Tujuh waterfalls which sure makes visitors to visit this beautiful place. Many photographers, videographers who are interested in nature photography visit this place due to its connection with nature. Here there is a number of stalls that sells souvenirs, toys and snacks where you can purchase while you explore the place. Open from 10:00-22:00 this place costs around 2000INR and is worth a visit to enjoy the beautiful view of nature.

  • Aquaria KLCC

Aquaria KLCC is one of the largest aquaria in Malaysia. There are over 5000+ aquatic animals here which include garfish, groupers and arapaimas. One of the most popular places of attraction in Malaysia, the Aquaria has some of the major tourist attraction marine animals like Tiger Shark, Coral fish, sea horse, snakes and blue rays. Located on the concourse of Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, entry to Aquaria costs 1100INR for adults and 900INR for children.

  • Cameron Highlands, Pahang

One of the oldest visited and scenic places of Malaysia is the Cameron Highlands located in Pahang state. With its natural vegetation, tea estates, orchards, waterfalls, forests, plantations of strawberry, lavender, museums, heritage, pilgrimage centre and pleasant climate Cameron Highlands is a place that seems like it is untouched to civilization. One of the most visited places for people who want to be in the midst of nature, Cameron highlands never fail to impress.

6) Batu Caves

The Batu Caves located in Selangor Region is famous for its Hindu shrines. With a giant statue of Lord Murugan, this place is most visited for a pilgrimage site. However, the location is also beautiful and mesmerizing. Protected by Malaysian Nature Society, Batu caves is said to be formed during the 10th Century. Home to many animals and birds, this natural cave is one most visited place for its religious background. Many trains and bus services are offered from Kuala Lumpur. The most famous festival held here is the Thaipusam Festival where there will be an inflow of worshipers.

  • Mount Kinabalu, Sabah

Mount Kinabalu is one of the second largest mountains in South East Asia. This place offers a scenic view of Sabah which is located in East Malaysia is a quaint little place. There are many tourist places as well as adventure activities which can be explored here like ATV ride etc. Mount Kinabalu trek usually takes 1 day for experienced climbers however everyone can explore this mountain through various organizations which organize an expedition. Expedition varies from 35k to 45k depending on a number of days.

  • Gunung Mulu National Park, Sarawak

Regarded as UNESCO World Heritage Centre Gunung Mulu is one of the best cave expedition places in Malaysia. With its exquisite collection of flora and fauna, this place is best for cave expedition, canopy walks, waterfall exploration etc. The highlight of the cave is ancient limestone carving, the rainforest of Borneo and this place is also home for various endangered species. Mount Mulu located inside the park is 2nd highest in the state of Sarawak which makes a thrill for adventure people to explore the place. Open all year round, entry for the place costs around 500INR.

  • Penang Hill, Penang

One of famous hill station in Penang is Penang Hill. With its height around 830m above sea level, this place offers a cool environment with scenic views of Penang. With its pleasant climate, green plantations, bungalows, Penang hill is the absolute favourite for nature lovers. Open all year round this place is must visit during early morning hours. Located just 6km from George Town the hill can be visited by Air Tram that costs around 100INR.

  • Sipandan Island, Sabah

The protected place of Sipandan Island is located in the state of Sabah. One must not visit Scuba Diving that is undertaken here, the speciality is just 100-120 divers are allowed per day as its protected. This place is one of best scuba diving destination in the world due to its richness in Coral reefs and home to around 3000+ species of fish. You can also enjoy Snorkelling, or just relax at the beaches of Sipandan.  The best time to visit Sipandan is during the months of March – October when there is no rainfall.

  8. Wow these photos are just stunning. I’ve seen so many pictures of Petronas Twin Towers and this is definitely one of the best. I would like to go and see Petronas Twin Towers and Penang Hill someday. Maybe I can go there with my friends and family!

  9. My picks are the highlands and the bridge. Do not get me wrong the Tower is cool but it is so common now. I am looking for something different and that bridge is that and more. Very mysterious as well.

  11. Petronas twin towers is so lovely, it well worth a visit by my entire family. I know Malay is a bubbling country that can keep one life and it will really be a good country to have maximum enjoyment.
