The Promenade Experience at #Pondicherry | #MacroTraveller

The Promenade, a Hidesign Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel on the ocean front of one of India’s most charismatic and romantic towns Pondicherry. The Promenade sits comfortably in the heart of the city’s ancient “French Quarter.” Pioneer villas, green parks, and charming cafes surround the hotel on all sides. While the interiors are ultra-modern with its clean, minimalist lines, the outside is colonial French. The gorgeous suites by the sea overlook the shimmering waters of the Bay of Bengal.

A five-star property, the hotel provides everything luxurious and in style. The Promenade offers some of the best-known dining and lounging options in Pondicherry. The Bay of Buddha at the Lighthouse is a charming rooftop restaurant that gives the most fantastic views of the majestic Bay of Bengal and is towered over by the town’s old Lighthouse. It offers a tempting range of Pan-Asian cuisine for dinner at its roof top open air restaurant.

The BlueLine is a fine, round the clock, restaurant that serves a wide variety of authentic Continental, Indian and Mediterranean dishes. Check out the indulgent and elaborate buffets that Blueline is well known for its standard. Risque, the exotic leather lounge with contemporary music overlooking the pool at The Promenade has an excellent selection of international wines, cocktails and exclusive blends of coffee. Ask the bartender to make you a special drink from his unusual repertoire of exotic cocktails.

Rooms were very capacious, and the bed was as comfortable as the bed at home which made the stay great. Well lay out and comfy. The bathroom was immaculate and the green tea soap was a great touch. The hotel is right at the attraction spot on promenade beach. The in-house restaurant was too good. Staff is very courteous. The roof top bar is exquisite and fashionable to the locales as well, pleasant experience. Other facilities include Wi-Fi access, movie rental, laundry service, travel assistance and doctor on call.

Shop – Le Pondicherry offers a curated selection of some of the best that Pondicherry creates. From gifts and souvenirs such candles, vegan chocolates, studio pottery, post cards to serious fashion selection of handbags, sunglasses, and accessories. All from Pondicherry.

Relax at Serena Spa! It indulges you with a broad range of massages, body scrub & wraps, facials, and waxing.

History: The Promenade hotel has been built next to the original Pondicherry Lighthouse where the former All India Radio (AIR) building used to be. The hotel built in 2006 and has played host many celebrities including the entire team of the Life of Pi during their four months of the shoot in Pondicherry.

It was the friendly service and delicious breakfast that got us to come back for dinner at the rooftop restaurant. I must say, I thoroughly enjoyed. The next time I’m in Pondy, I’ll stay here.
