After launching srt.phone last year in May, Smartron unveiled a new smartphone called tphone P in the market. The phone has been priced at Rs. 7,999, and it will be accessible exclusively on Flipkart from January 17.
The t.phone P comes with a massive 5,000 mAh battery providing up to 350 hours of standby time. The device also equipped with OTG support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4G VoLTE connectivity.
Design and Display: Metal body and 5.2 inch HD display
Smartron tphone P has excellent build quality which you immediately notice when you hold this phone in your hands for the first time due to its metal back. The phone fits nicely in hand and, even this phone has a 5,000mAh Battery it’s not that bulky. The tphone P comes with a 5.2 inches full HD screen display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, with an aspect ratio of 16:9 and it also emphasizes 2.5D curved glass. The display seemed quite responsive and decent, and viewing angles were also excellent. Overall, I’m impressed with the Build Quality and overall look and feel of the Phone.
Camera: 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera
The tphone P has 13-megapixel rear camera along with the LED flashlight. The front panel has a 5 MP secondary camera along with LED flashlight to brighten up the images in non-ideal light situations. It has Beautify mode, Multi Exposure, Time Lapse, Panorama and Burst modes while the secondary 5 MP camera along with f/2.0 aperture. It is also accompanied by Beautify, Wide Selfie and Burst modes.
Battery and Software: 5000mAh high-capacity battery and Android Nougat
The most exciting thing about this tphone P is its huge 5,000 mAh battery unit that is good enough to give 350 hours that mean close to 15 days of standby time. On the software aspect, t.phone P comes with Android Nougat out of the box. Then there are some pre-installed like t-care, t-store, and t-cloud. The smartphone felt pretty responsive, and there were no lags and stutters during my usage.
Processor and RAM: Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor
This smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor along with 3GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage, which can be further expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card. Smartron is also offering 1000 GB free cloud storage, and there’s a dedicated microSD card slot with Dual-SIM (Nano+Nano) capabilities that seems reasonable at this price point.
t.phone P seems like a good budget smartphone with a big battery and design as its highlight features. I didn’t face any issue with the smartphone in my brief usage. Nonetheless, there is fierce competition with smartphones like Xiaomi Redmi 5A, Motorola Moto C Plus, Micromax Bharat 5 and Infocus Turbo 5.
