Its highlight reasonably is that it is located between two hills within Bandhavgarh National Park and exists close to its main entry gate. The Lodge, spread across around 14 acres, has ten on-ground cottages and eight stilt cottages as accommodation. The lodge offers safaris in Bandhavgarh National Park, bush dinners, spa, and a watchtower to enjoy wildlife from a safe distance.
This eco-friendly property is less than 3 km from the Tala Gate of the national park, making it favourite among nature and animal lovers. Panpatha Wildlife Sanctuary is around 10 km from this jungle lodge. Umaria Railway Station is 38 km from here, and Jabalpur Airport can be reached in about 3 hours’ drive.
We received a pleasant and warm welcome to the lodge. We have just had an enjoyable few days here, the setting is gorgeous and so well designed. The decor seems to be inspired by central Indian culture. The rooms are spacious and welcoming, with everything you need. You can enjoy views of the forest while relaxing in the large veranda provided with each cottage room. Featuring window mats and beautifying antiques, luminous and airy rooms are equipped with air conditioning and electric kettle. The verandah is a magnificent place to sit with your coffee, in the morning/evening.
The evening wildlife presentations were outstanding and showed a substantial involvement in wildlife activities by the naturalists and staff. The genuine experience is watching wildlife documentaries every evening along with snacks. Bathrooms come with 24-hour hot water supply and bathtubs. Everything stored like shampoo and conditioner is of natural kind of stuff. Towels were crisp and clean, and the beds are very comfortable.
The food was outstanding, fresh, locally grown and sourced. Food was excellent with the right balance of spice and taste. You can enjoy select Indian and international dishes at the common dining hall with a fireplace that overlooks bewildering green expanse. Every meal was delicious, and the lodge is plastic free!
Enjoy fresh, seasonal, regional delicacies at the Kings Lodge. Breakfast is inside the park-Al-fresco. Fresh, wholesome and sumptuous meal in the jungle is an experience to look forward to. Lunch is Indian Table D’ Hôte (“The Table of the Host”) or chef’s special for the day. Dinner at the main dining hall where you could break bread with other guests, bespoke campfire dinner “Under the Stars” at Forest Grill and an interactive dinner with their chef at their kitchen garden can be organized.
Highlights and Special Mention: Facilities include a small pool, nature trail, activity room, gardens, nature library, restaurant/bar, and spa. Check outdoor barbeque and bush dinners. The in-house spa offers a variety of holistic spa treatments for body rejuvenation. Take tailor-made bird-watching and photography tours.
Under the guidance of the lodge’s naturalist team, every bird and tiger spotting outing transforms into a lingering wildlife experience. The safari guides had such in-depth knowledge of the terrain and wildlife of the Bandhavgarh National Park that we saw everything that we had hoped, including close up, encounters with tigers. Having such a peaceful, majestic creature gazing into your eyes for even a short moment in time is an enchanting experience that I will remain with us forever.
The kings’ lodge staff and naturalists were generous, hospitable accommodating and always at your service. If you’re planning a safari at the Bandhavgarh National Park, MacroTraveller recommends staying at the Kings Lodge.
